Privacy Policy

Temple is a research service run by Vor Labs, Inc. ("Temple", "we", "us"). This policy says what we collect, why, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers two groups of people:

• Creators — people who use Temple to run studies, on the web or by text message (Temple Text).
• Participants — people who take a Temple interview.

What we collect

From creators

• Account details: your email address and name. If you start with Temple Text, your account begins with your phone number instead, until you add an email.
• Your phone number and texts, if you use Temple Text. We keep the messages you send us and the replies we send, so the conversation can continue.
• Your studies: the questions, audiences, websites, and anything else you tell Temple while setting up a study, plus the results.
• Payment details: payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
• Usage information: which pages you open and which features you use, so we can run and improve the service.

From participants

• What you say or type in the interview. A spoken interview becomes a written transcript. Temple does not keep the audio recording.
• Your answers to screening questions, which decide whether a study fits you.
• An ID from the panel you joined through, so the panel can pay you. We don't receive your name, email, or phone number from the panel.
• Basic device information: browser, operating system, and device type. We don't store your IP address with your interview.

We don't ask participants for their name or contact details. If you say them during an interview, they will be in the transcript, so leave out anything you'd rather keep private.

How we use it

• To run studies: recruit and screen participants, conduct interviews, and write up the results.
• To talk with creators about their studies, by text or email, including receipts and notices when interviews arrive.
• To take payment for studies.
• To keep the service working and secure, fix problems, and improve it.
• To send product updates to creators who haven't opted out. Every update email has an unsubscribe link.

We don't sell personal information.

Who sees it

• The creator who commissioned a study sees participants' transcripts word for word, their screening answers, and the write-up. They never get a participant's name or contact details from us.
• Companies that help us run Temple process data on our behalf: hosting and databases, the AI models that conduct interviews and write reports, text messaging, email, payments, and participant recruiting. They may use it only to provide their service to us, and we'll tell you who they are if you ask.
• Our team, to support creators and to keep the service running. Staff access is limited to that purpose.
• Authorities, when the law requires it.
• A buyer or successor, if Temple is sold or merged, under this policy.

How long we keep it

We keep account information, studies, transcripts, and messages until you delete them or ask us to.

Your choices

• Access or deletion. Email founders@templeapp.ai to get a copy of your data or have it deleted. Participants: tell us the study and roughly when you took it.
• Texts. Reply STOP to Temple Text at any time and we stop texting you. Reply START to resume.
• Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any product-update email. Study notices you asked for keep coming until you turn them off or close your account.

Security

We protect data with access controls, encryption in transit, and limited staff access. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects your data, we'll tell you as the law requires.

Where your data lives

Temple stores data in the United States.

Children

Temple isn't for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. For significant changes we'll also email creators.
